I had been very active and strong in my youth, but when I started at Element CrossFit at age 60 I was just looking to lose weight and stay active. After 6 months, I’ve lost weight, gotten stronger and more flexible. It has made the rest of my life outside the gym easier, too. The knee pain I used to experience while walking up and down stairs has disappeared, and I have more energy now than I can ever remember. I really enjoy the feeling of accomplishment after a strength training session, I never thought in my life that I’d be able to lift 195 pounds but I did it!
And I can keep up with the younger girls during the workout of the day, as the workouts are scaled to my ability level. Anyone from young teens to mature individuals can do it and keep fit if they really want to. Time and distance are excuses that we all use sometimes, but it’s just a matter of priority. At Element CrossFit we all always get personal attention and a detailed explanation of the exercises we use in the workouts. I love that my workouts are under 30 minutes, no comparison to the 1.5 hours some people spend at other gyms, and the results are even better here! To believe it you have to try it.
